Fact About Israel/Palestine Dispute That Will Upset Your

People get very emotional about the events occurring in Israel and Gaza. It seems like folks don’t need any skin in the game or have much knowledge to have strong opinions on this subject. The issue divides North Americans and Europeans along political lines as Israel is favored by the right and center and the Palestinians are defended by the left. There are exceptions to the rule. Neo-Nazi types want all Muslims to be deported from their nations and want them to suffer but support Hamas because they have an expressed desire to murder Jews. (It is in the charter of Hamas.) Also, some left leaning Jews still have some attachment to the Jewish state. One thing that always perplexes me on this topic and others is how many people, especially on but not limited to the left, have strong emotions and opinions but are seemingly too lazy to do any analysis of the subject. Dunning and Kruger were right in the observation that those that know the least tend to have great certainty.

I have noticed over the years that when I discuss Israel in particular and the Middle-East in general, many people clearly are shocked by some of the objective historical, economic, and sociological facts that I bring up. I have changed some minds but for the most part people do not change their overall views. Frankly, I have noticed that the less ego and more intelligence one has, the more willing they are to evolve their opinions when learning more about any subject. The toughest person to convince of anything is a narcissist with low intelligence. I have learned not to bother with those people. It is futile and you will only make them despise you personally.

So here are some facts everyone should know if they truly want to understand this subject:

Fact 1: There was never a Palestinian state. There was never an independent Palestine or even any group calling themselves Palestinians until the 1960’s. There were merely Muslim Arabs who lived in the area. They did not have a national identity until after the State of Israel was born in 1948. Amazingly, “Palestinians” are refugees after seventy three years from a nation that never existed.

Fact 2: Muslim Arabs supported the Nazis in World War II and their leadership agreed formally with Adolf Hitler to exterminate the Jews of British controlled Palestine. This is a documented fact. They lost. Too bad. Germans in Poland, the USSR and other countries, especially those that aided the Nazi’s death infrastructure had to leave for betraying their neighbors, if they weren’t killed or shipped to Soviet gulags.

Fact 3: The Ottoman Turks controlled the area until the end of World War I. They kept the Arabs as vassals for four hundred years. They lost the war and Britain took over. At the time, the geographic area known as Palestine was an underpopulated hell hole with no modern infrastructure. The British and the Jewish pioneers who began settling in the area built the land. They put in sewers, water systems, electricity, modern roads etc. The Jewish pioneers literally turned largely unfarmable land into productive farms. This brings us to the next fact. One that is true but will make Palestinians and their supporters flip.

Fact 4: There was never a huge permanent Muslim Arab population in the land until the Zionists and British brought relative prosperity. A large number of people who claim “Palestinian” ancestry are simply wrong. Most are decended from migrant workers who were drawn to the area to work in an increasingly Westernized economy. Many of their families have spent less time in the area than many of the Jewish population. In the late 1800’s there were only a few hundred thousand Muslim Arabs in the area. Currently, there are almost 14 million people claiming Palestinian ancestry. Obviously that does not square with the Turkish census figures. Their birth rate could have been that high. In 1948 there was only a bit over 700,000 Jews in Israel. Does anyone believe that a few hundred thousand Jewish farmers and Holocaust survivors could have won a war against so many millions of Palestinians and the armies of five Muslim Arab nations?

Fact Five: Jews had no choice but to go to Israel. European Jews, commonly called Ashkenazi, were slaughtered in the Holocaust. After the war, others were killed in pogroms by their former neighbors. Mizrahi and Sephardic Jews numbering between 600,000 and 850,000 were expelled from Arab countries after World War II. They had lived their for centuries. Far longer than most nomadic Bedouin people had lived in what is now Israel. Why is it that Muslims can expel Jews and then complain that they immigrated to Israel? That is because much of the religious Muslim world believe their faith is superior and that the entire world should be Muslim starting with Israel, then India, then Europe, then the rest of the world. Remaining Christians and Jews are to be subservient to their Muslim masters. This too is mentioned in the Hamas charter.

Fact Six: The religious importance of Jerusalem to Muslims is largely a construct. There is no historic evidence that Muhammed was ever in Israel. According to Muslim folklore, Muhammed ascended to heaven on a winged horse from what is now the Temple Mount. Coincidently, this just happens to be the site of the second Jewish temple. It is obvious that this myth was merely to humiliate the Jews much in the same way the Muslim Turks sought to humiliate the Orthodox church by conquering the old capital of the Eastern Roman Empire Constantinople and renaming it Istanbul. In fact, Christianity has more legitimate connections to the Holy Land than Islam. As everyone knows, it was the birthplace and home of Jesus Christ and from the fifth to eleventh century, it had a majority Christian population. This is a fact conveniently ignored by Muslims and sadly forgotten by Christians. What happened to Christians is the Holy Land and the rest of the Middle East and North Africa in the Middle Ages would constitute an actual genocide by today’s standards.

Fact Seven: The charter of Hamas calls for the extermination of the State of Israel and the deportation and murder of millions of Jews. It also calls for the death of Jews everywhere is the world. It also calls for the subservience of Christians and the few Jews Muslims permit to live. These facts are right in their charter. Westerners who support Hamas are either willfully ignorant or favor a new genocide against the Jews. This is an purely evil murderous terrorist organization. That is why anti-Zionism is actually worse than anti-Semitism. Not all people who resent Jews want them dead. Anti-Zionism advocates the deportation and killing of Jews as a definitional belief.

Fact Eight: Muslim Israelis are more free and have more rights than anywhere in the Arab Muslim world. They can vote, hold public office, enjoy state of the art health care and enjoy many of the benefits Westerners take for granted. Referring to Israel as apartheid is a slur to those who actually endured that system as it was practiced in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and the US south under Jim Crow. Seriously, cultural Marxists really need to think before they throw around terms and make themselves sound like imbeciles to thoughtful people. In fact, most Israeli Arabs seem to prefer living in Israel. They are free to move to Gaza or the West Bank but do not generally. No wonder, so many Muslims are desperate to escape their overpopulated and poverty stricken failed states in favor of Europe and North America. Overpopulation will increase the refugee problem.

Fact Nine: Israel puts a higher value on Palestinian lives than Hamas does. The Iron Dome initiative is expensive. Each missile used to shoot down a terrorist missile costs $40,000. Each battery costs $50 million and there are ten of them. Goodness knows how much went into the research and development of this incredible life saving technology. It saves Israeli lives but it saves many more Palestinian lives. It would be far easier and cheaper for Israel to use conventional missile and bombs and just destroy entire blocks of Gaza to end these missile threats. Every new home built in Israel is required to have a bomb shelter. In contrast, Palestinian homes do not have shelters. Hamas uses their funds to build a series of tunnels called the Metro to facilitate terrorism. They intentionally put their missile batteries next to schools, hospitals and civilian homes. In fact, hundreds of Hamas missiles landed in Gaza and no doubt killed their own people. The Israeli Defense Forces are the most humane armed forces in the world. Even British and American generals admit they are not as careful as the IDF in limiting civilian casualties. In contrast, Hamas purposely targets civilians in Israel and uses their own women and children as human shields. Yet the uninformed, the viciously anti-Semitic and psychopathic Western cultural Marxists continue to vilify Israel.

Fact Ten: Gaza, and to a great extent the West Bank are backward economic disasters. According to reliable estimates the average GDP per capita of Gaza is less than $900 a year. That’s less money than anti-Israel Hollywood types spend a week on cocaine. Israel, which was not even a country after World War II, has a GDP per capita of almost $44,000 which is higher than Spain, Italy and France. Palestine has big problems but to paraphrase a rapper: Jews ain’t one of them.

By all means, let’s debate the Israel Gaza situation but let that debate be based on truth.
